Characters and Parties

2006 Bringing a Dream to Life

In 2006, Tara transformed her lifelong dream of becoming an event planner into a vibrant reality, launching Party Boutique from the comfort of her home. What began as crafting and shipping custom "party in a box" packages across the United States and Canada—each one meticulously assembled with personalized invitations, themed decorations, and all essentials for a seamless celebration—quickly evolved into hosting enchanting dress-up parties later that year. Themes like spa, princess, and pop star came alive with all-inclusive setups featuring coordinated linens, elegant table displays, and delightful finger foods, laying the foundation for a beloved business that would captivate little girls and create magical memories for years to come.

location, location, location

2007 first shop

In 2007, Party Boutique marked a significant milestone by opening its first physical location in a charming old house on Broadway in Grove City, Ohio, transitioning from a purely mobile operation to a daily destination where little girls could immerse themselves in magical experiences. No longer limited to home-based services, the boutique invited young visitors every day to create their own spa lotions, sugar scrubs, lip gloss, and bath bubbles; sing karaoke; dress up in enchanting outfits; get their hair styled like royalty; enjoy lunch with a princess; participate in character meet-and-greets; and host onsite birthday parties that were now bigger and better, featuring elaborate decorations and expanded food menus. That same year, the introduction of Character Couture brought costumed characters available for hire, adding a layer of whimsy and performance to parties and events, solidifying Party Boutique as a beloved haven for imaginative play and celebrations.

Rebranding

2009 Second Shop

In 2009, Party Boutique underwent an exciting rebranding to Pinkalicious Parties and relocated up Broadway to a vibrant spot in downtown historical Grove City, Ohio, marking a pivotal growth year for the business. The new second location boasted a full retail space, a dedicated kids' salon offering haircuts, manicures, pedicures, and ear piercing, along with an expanded array of DIY spa products like lotions and scrubs. Parties remained a core offering but were elevated with a bigger party room and the addition of a signature pink runway for fashion shows and karaoke, creating even more magical experiences. This era saw Pinkalicious expanding its reach through princess balls, parades, fairs, festivals, participation in the New Albany Classic, and delightful Ice Cream Socials featuring Grater's ice cream, all supported by a roster of more than 30 performing characters that brought whimsy to events far and wide.

Changing Again

2020 Becoming Libby

In 2020, amid the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the business underwent its most transformative change yet, rebranding as Libby Lou's Fun Factory and initially pivoting to virtual birthday parties via Zoom, where party kits were delivered to each guest's doorstep for group celebrations online. This innovative approach extended to shipping delightful candy bouquets, candy cakes, and cotton candy cakes nationwide for occasions like birthdays and graduations. Soon after, a new third location opened on Indianola Ave in Clintonville, Ohio—this is the location that would make us TikTok viral and cause us to sell out of everything in one day—featuring an enticing array of 36 flavors of premium ice cream, extravagant over-the-top shakes topped with cake pieces and candy, more than 40 flavors of cotton candy, snow cones, mini donuts, and walls brimming with sweets. While birthday parties continued, they shifted away from the traditional dress-up, hair, and nail services, focusing instead on ice cream-centric fun like extreme shake parties, canvas and sundaes paint parties, and stuff-a-pal ice cream socials, with the business thriving in this space for the next five years.

Today

2025, Bubbly Hall

Today, Libby Lou's Fun Factory has relocated to the vibrant Bubbly Food Hall in New Albany, Ohio, downsizing from its Clintonville spot to prioritize enhanced indoor seating and ample parking for a more comfortable guest experience. Looking ahead, the near future holds the exciting arrival of a custom food trailer in January 2026, aimed at expanding catering services and reaching more events. In the long term, the vision is to secure a standalone retail space that can fully accommodate all current offerings while introducing even more delectable food options, ensuring continued growth and magical moments for years to come.
